Cass Rhynes, the PEI baseball player who was convicted last year of coercing two girls under 14 to perform oral sex, had his conviction overturned this week because it was the girls' idea. I find this somewhat disturbing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the whole point of age of consent laws was that 12 year olds can't legally consent to sex, period. If that's true, then why does it matter whose idea it was?
