I was at my local Rogers Video last night, and I noticed they had filed Jim Jarmusch's Dead Man in the "action/adventure" section. That's just hysterical.

DC Comics resurrects Batwoman as a lesbian

DC Comics is bringing back Batwoman as a lesbian, and not surprisingly, she's a "lipstick lesbian." DC claims it's doing this in the name of diversity: "We have strong African-American, Hispanic and Asian characters. We're trying to get a better cross-section of our readership and the world," says vice president Dan DiDio. Nice try, but if you're really interested in diversity, how about creating a female character that isn't tall, thin and large breasted? It's pretty clear that the cross-section of their readership they're aiming for encompasses guys who like blondes, guys who like brunettes, guys who like redheads, and now guys who dig lesbians.
