If you haven't seen former Canadian foreign minister Lloyd Axworthy's
open letter to Condoleezza Rice yet, it's worth a read. While his sarcasm and bluntness will probably generate yet another tiresome flurry of Canada-hating among Bill O'Reilly fans, it's hard not to cheer a little when he sticks it to the man:
Such control-freak antics may work in the virtual one-party state that now prevails in Washington. But in Canada we have a residual belief that politicians should be subject to a few checks and balances, an idea that your country once espoused before the days of empire.
